Question 1

What is included in the website price?

Accepted Answer

Structure, copy for the agreed pages, design, the technical build, technical SEO basics, two consolidated rounds of corrections, and checks and guidance at launch. Each package lists exactly what it includes, and your quote confirms the agreed pages, features and work.

Question 2

Why do some packages have a starting price?

Accepted Answer

Larger websites and projects with extra features vary more in pages, content and functionality. The starting price is the minimum; your quote states the final price before any work begins.

Question 3

How long does a website take?

Accepted Answer

A small site is usually one to two weeks from the point your content is ready. For larger projects, the timeline is set out in the quote. The honest variable is content, not code.

Question 4

Who writes the text?

Accepted Answer

We do it together. You provide business information, ideas or existing material; I draft or refine the agreed website pages. You approve them for accuracy and tone. Images are supplied by you. Extensive research and specialist content are quoted separately.

Question 5

Can I edit my website myself?

Accepted Answer

That depends on the agreed package. The Extended website includes a simple content management system for the agreed projects or articles; in the other packages, changes are made by me. We agree in advance what you can edit yourself.

Question 6

Are hosting and a domain name included?

Accepted Answer

No. Hosting, domain name, paid tools, licences and any usage costs are specified separately, so you can see exactly what you pay for. Hosting and domain usually cost around €10–€25 a month, paid directly to the provider. If you prefer, I can arrange both and look after them for you.

Question 7

Is a care plan required?

Accepted Answer

No. Care is optional and offered separately from the build. Without a plan, extra work is available at €60 per hour, excl. VAT, always agreed in advance.

Question 8

What is a round of corrections?

Accepted Answer

One collected set of feedback, sent together. Two are included. New pages, new features or a new design direction are not a regular correction and are quoted separately.

Question 9

What do extra pages or changes cost?

Accepted Answer

An extra page within an existing layout is €125–€200; with a new design, €250–€400. Other extra work is €60 per hour, excl. VAT. These are indicative prices, and the price is confirmed before work starts.

Question 10

How does payment work?

Accepted Answer

50% at the start and 50% before launch. Care is optional, and extra work is discussed and priced in advance.

Question 11

Do I own the site?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Domain, code, content and accounts are yours. If you ever want to move on, there is nothing to unpick.

Question 12

Who actually does the work?

Accepted Answer

I do — Mitchel Koopmans. Evenfold Studio is one person, which is why I take on a small number of projects at a time.

Question 13

Can you work with my existing site?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes. If it is built on something maintainable, I can improve it. If fixing it costs more than replacing it, I will tell you that instead of billing for the repair.

Question 14

What about other languages?

Accepted Answer

The site is available in English, Dutch, German, Spanish and Portuguese. Your own site can be built in several languages from the start, with each language on its own address so search engines list it properly.

Question 15

How do we start?

Accepted Answer

Use the project form. It takes a few minutes and asks the questions I would ask on a call, so the first conversation can be about decisions rather than basics.
